Privacy & Cookies
How this site handles data, and how Google AdSense uses cookies.
The short version: we collect almost nothing ourselves; Google AdSense shows ads and uses advertising cookies only if you consent.
What we collect
Nothing personally identifiable. Our host (Cloudflare Pages) processes standard server logs — IP address, user agent — to serve and secure the site; we use aggregate, cookie-free analytics that cannot identify you. Calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to us.
Email alerts (optional)
If you sign up for an email alert (for example the Budget-day summary or council tax premium changes), we store the email address you give, the topic you chose, the page you signed up from, the country your connection came from and the time of consent, in a database hosted by Cloudflare (D1). We use it only to send that alert, from our own domain. No IP address or browser details are stored with it. You can unsubscribe with the link in any email or by emailing us, and we delete the record when you do. We never sell or share the list.
Quote requests (optional)
Some calculator pages carry a “request a quote” form (buy-to-let mortgage, remortgage, landlord insurance, accountant, conveyancing, bridging, EPC work). If you use one, we store what you type — name, email, phone and postcode if given, the value band you picked, your note, the page, the country your connection came from and the time of consent — in a database hosted by Cloudflare (D1). We use it for one thing: to answer the enquiry and pass it to one relevant regulated UK partner so they can quote. You are never passed to more than one partner per request, and never to anyone for unrelated marketing.
Current partners: none signed yet. Until a partner is named here, every request is answered by us directly by email and nothing is shared with anyone. When a partner is added, its legal name, FCA/ICAEW registration where relevant, and what it receives will be listed on this line the same day, and earlier requests will not be shared without asking you first.
We may receive a fee from a partner if you take out a product. That never changes what the free calculators show. Email us to see, correct or delete a request; we delete it once the enquiry is closed or after 12 months, whichever is sooner.
If you email us, we hold your message to reply to it and delete it when the thread is done. We never add you to a list you didn’t ask for.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site is funded by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. In the UK and EEA a Google-certified consent message asks first, with an equal-prominence option to decline; you can change your choice any time via Privacy and cookie settings. Opt out of personalised ads in Google Ads Settings. The cookie list is on our cookie policy. Advertising never changes what a calculator shows.

Some links to software or services may earn us a commission at no cost to you. They are ordinary links — no tracking is added by this site — and pages that contain them say so.
Your rights
UK GDPR gives you rights over personal data. Since we hold essentially none, the practical scope is your email correspondence — write to us and we will delete it.
